Parsons Road Roundabout Trail Crossing

The TART trail crosses the south leg of the roundabout at Parsons Road and currently only utilizes the standard pedestrian crossing sign. For additional safety, a Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon (RRFB) could be installed to emphasize to drivers that trail users are crossing. Additionally, the sign type could be changed to a pedestrian & cyclist sign, as cyclists typically cross at a higher speed than pedestrians.

A potential treatment that may be worth considering for this crossing is a passively activated RRFB. This would automatically begin the flashing sequence without manual activation. This is particularly useful for cyclists as they can continue riding while the RRFB automatically alerts drivers of their crossing.
